- BDS Dund 1978
David qualified in Dundee in 1978. He was in general practice until 1992. During this time he received training to allow him to provide intravenous sedation. He also did a lot of work studying occlusion and cosmetic dentistry, including veneers and tooth whitening.
In 1992 he reduced his general practice and focused on setting up a specialist orthodontic referral practice as well as studying implantology. 1998 saw David with a young family and decided to leave the hurly – burly of the Home Counties and moved to the South Hams, Devon. This allowed further time to study, including a year long course on Restorative Dentistry, in Manchester, and another year long course, again in Manchester, on Aesthetic Dentistry. He also undertook a supervised course at the Eastman Dental Hospital, on Porcelain Laminates, run by the renowned Dr Larry Rosenthal of New York.
David’s latest toy is the CEREC machine, which allows him to mill his own porcelain restorations in the practice. |

I started working for David in January 2007 and have done very well in gaining my National Certificate in Dental Nursing on the first attempt. I hope to add other qualifications whilst at the practice in Radiography and Sedation Nursing. In my spare time I like to keep fit, and spend time with my Fiancée and our two cats. |

Hygienist with the practice.
I qualified in 1984 and have worked as a Dental Hygienist around the globe, Hong Kong, Australia, Gibraltar, Brunei and in the U. K. both north and south. I have lived in Modbury for 16 years with my husband and three children, and have worked in Modbury Dental Practice for 10 years. I take a holistic approach when treating my patients, as I feel very strongly about the correlation between outside influences effecting dental/general health. I tend to specialise in more advanced chronic periodontal disease and enjoy providing and promoting preventative dentistry within the practice. In addition to this I enjoy sharing the knowledge gained from the numerous CPD courses attended throughout the year. |

I have worked in a variety of general Dental practices over the last 23 years. I am involved in Tutoring Dental Nurses to train to be Oral Health Educators and have helped co-ordinate CPD meetings for the Dental team.I am married with two lovely daughters, which take up the rest of my spare time. |

I started working for David in June 2005 as Dental Nurse, passed my National Certificate in May 2006, which was quite an achievement, then became Practice Manager in September 2007. I am still involved in Dental Nursing and I am on the register of Dental Care Professionals, and regularly attend courses for CPD, which is mandatory. I also attend an Independent Managers Group, were I meet other managers in the profession, who are always on hand with advice and help if needed. In my spare time I enjoy walking with my husband and two dogs, also we enjoy motorbike riding weather permitting.
